Description

ROM BYZ 002; Heraclius Byzantine Emperor was responsible for introducing Greek into the Eastern Roman Empires official language. His rise to power began in 608 AD after he successfully overthrew Phocas the previous Byzantine emperor. Heraclius’s reign was marked by several major military campaigns which included the expulsion of the Persians from Asia Minor at the battle of Nineveh in 627 AD. Heraclius is also credited with restoring the ‘True cross of Christ’ back into Christian hands and is known as the first crusader because of this. Our release of Heraclius depicts him wearing beautiful robes and his peacock feather crown, sword drawn as if to encourage his Imperial Guard. Possibly one of our most ornate figures to date capturing this iconic figure from history in all his glory.
Priced at $65/£55 and limited to 100 pieces.
